The short answer
- Keep Apollo on the shortlist if discovery, contact data and engagement together fit your process.
- Consider Clay for configurable provider and destination workflows, FullEnrich for supplied contacts, or Hunter for company discovery and email finding.
- LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a different prospect-research workflow; LinkedIn says it does not export lead or account information to CSV or XLS. Check the handoff before comparing it with a contact export.
Choose the layer to replace
A database search begins with a target market and produces candidate people or companies. Enriching a supplied list starts with identifiers you already hold. An email finder resolves a known person or domain; a sending tool executes outreach. These are connected jobs, but a successful replacement for one does not automatically replace the others.
Apollo documents search, lists, enrichment, sequences and exports. Before switching, inventory the fields, saved searches, suppressed contacts and live sequences your team actually relies on.
FullEnrich’s trust center also describes a separate people and company search database. The supplied-list comparison here focuses on enrichment, not an assertion that FullEnrich lacks discovery.
Four different starting points
Clay can start from a CSV, CRM or webhook and route records through configurable workflows; its work-email example uses a provider waterfall. Choose it when the team needs to manage that logic and the downstream handoff. Its data credits and actions make the bill different from a single finder charge.
FullEnrich enriches supplied contacts and exports results. It also offers people and company search. Consider it for a contact-data task where a broader configurable workflow is not the first requirement. Its credit rules distinguish returned results from misses and include some uncertain email results in charges.
Hunter Discover searches companies and reveals emails; its credit guide distinguishes plan and task units. Consider it when company discovery and finding work email are the priority. Confirm the plan and the exact reveal or verification charge.
LinkedIn says Sales Navigator does not export lead and account information to CSV or XLS, with alternatives available on Advanced Plus. Consider its people and account research separately from the contact-data and export workflow you may still need. This is not a claim that a Sales Navigator subscription supplies an equivalent downloadable email database.
| Option | Starting input and output | Cost or handoff to inspect |
|---|---|---|
| Clay | A sourced or supplied list; configured enrichment and destination | Data credits, actions and external provider bills |
| FullEnrich | Contacts to enrich; also has people and company search | Result credits, search export and CRM availability |
| Hunter | Company discovery or known person/domain; work emails | Plan-specific reveal and verification units |
| Sales Navigator | People and account research | Lead and account CSV/XLS export is unavailable; check the destination |

Compare the same starting point
For 1,000 known business contacts, count requested fields, paid returned results, uncertain results, misses, actions and external provider charges. For 1,000 new prospects, add search, review and reveal costs before enrichment. A contact found, a paid result and a usable record are different denominators. Do not assume a match rate to calculate a winner.
Ask each vendor for the applicable seat minimum, term, credit allowance, export or API limits and overages. Clay’s pricing separates actions and data credits; FullEnrich’s credit guide describes its own result rules. A credit in one system is not a comparable unit of value in the other.
Move records without losing context
Export a small sample, including record IDs, source and verification status, and reconcile it with the destination. Carry suppression and contact preferences under your organization’s rules. A CSV of contacts does not automatically preserve active sequence state, provider history, field provenance or the settings of a scheduled job.
Test matching, duplicate handling, create versus update and field overwrite rules on a controlled CRM fixture. Record the owner of credentials and the plan required for each connection. Retain Apollo if its combined workflow and governance meet the requirement better than the proposed assembly.
Use an authorized fixture
For discovery, define a target segment and review results against an appropriate reference set. For enrichment, use the same authorized or synthetic rows, inputs and requested fields with every candidate. Record result status, total charges and reconciliation effort; do not extrapolate a small cohort into a universal coverage ranking.
If the unmet need is outbound execution rather than prospect search, inspect the cold email software guide and verify the actual sending workflow independently. A sending tool should not be assumed to replace prospect discovery.
Common questions
Which Apollo alternative replaces the entire platform?
The candidates do different jobs. List the discovery, enrichment, engagement and CRM functions you actually use before deciding whether a single replacement is sufficient.
Can I use Clay or FullEnrich with an existing list?
Clay documents CSV and CRM sources; FullEnrich documents contact enrichment and export. Check identifiers, permissions and plan terms for your workflow.
Can Sales Navigator export lead lists to CSV?
LinkedIn says it does not offer CSV or XLS export of lead and account information and points Advanced Plus users to alternative solutions.
