The short answer
Check account generation and seats
Loom’s pricing lists Starter with 25 videos per person and five-minute screen recordings. Its billing guide distinguishes legacy Loom billing from Atlassian-integrated accounts: integrated paid plans do not support Creator Lite and annual billing can use user tiers. Verify the account’s migration status and seat model.
Loom’s pricing describes Business recording time as unlimited, while its plan comparison describes a six-hour limit. Confirm the applicable duration and recording method before planning a long session.
The pricing page lists up to 50 Starter members, while Atlassian’s Starter FAQ lists a lower limit for integrated accounts. Confirm the purchase route, workspace type and seat allowance.
Choose who can view
Loom says workspace-open content is discoverable by workspace members and external links are public by default. Check the actual video’s access setting before sharing sensitive material. Embedding a video does not remove the need to verify who can watch it.
See the vendor-hosted Loom privacy guide for an example of the interface.
Loom says caption translations are AI-generated and unavailable when the creator’s workspace does not allow AI. Review transcript access and the workspace AI policy before sharing sensitive content.
Use video as a message
Loom is suited to explaining a task, demonstrating an issue or collecting feedback asynchronously. Before expecting marketing attribution, verify your actual CRM integration, viewer identification method and consent; a view count is not automatically an identified contact or a CRM update.
Loom describes requesting or associating an email with a view; an email association is not proof of identity. Its Salesforce guide limits the integration to Enterprise and requires appropriate administrator setup. Confirm what reaches each record rather than treating a view as a CRM update.
Preserve recordings
Loom says downloading video requires a paid plan and eligible role; viewer downloads also depend on the video setting and viewer status. Its guide says videos with Variables and videos over 20 GB cannot be downloaded; only the meeting organizer can download a meeting recording. Captions, comments and interactive elements need separate checks.
Loom says an administrator deleting a video owner’s account may choose to permanently delete their content, and a user deleting their own account permanently deletes content they own across workspaces. Inventory ownership and exports before offboarding.
Loom describes an engagement CSV for eligible administrators, with limited visibility into members’ personal libraries on Business and Business + AI. A recording download and an analytics export are different artifacts.
How to compare the alternatives

Common questions
Does a video view identify the viewer?
A view count alone does not establish who watched. Check the product’s identification method, consent and integration requirements.
Does downloading a video preserve the full experience?
Check player interactions, captions, analytics, permissions and links separately; a media file is not the entire hosted experience.
