The short answer
- Start with the same questions and engine coverage; the plan allowances describe different coverage.
- Peec AI pricing lists three active models on self-service tiers and daily collection.
- Otterly’s prompt limit guide counts each prompt-country combination against the allowance.
- Keep the answers behind a report and test whether their fields support your own analysis.
Price the panel you need
Write the questions and countries you need before comparing allowances. A prompt count alone does not describe the resulting coverage.
Peec AI pricing lists 50, 150 and 350 prompts with three active models on self-service tiers. Its FAQ describes answer volume as prompts multiplied by models and monitoring days. The pricing table lists country limits, while the FAQ says regions do not add cost apart from prompt usage. Ask how both apply to your order.
Otterly’s prompt limit guide counts the same prompt in four countries as four prompts. For example, one question across those countries occupies four places in the allowance. Otterly pricing lists Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude as separately priced add-ons.
Ask each vendor to quote the same panel with the required engines. Record the included countries and any add-ons beside the subscription so the quote can be checked against the intended work.
Match the sampling method
The collection surface and observation window matter when interpreting an answer. A monitored panel is a sample of answers to selected questions.
Peec AI’s instructions describe collection through user interfaces for most engines and separately selectable API models. The instructions and pricing materials differ on included engines, including Perplexity. Request the current model list and collection surface for each model in your order.
Otterly’s collection guide describes daily monitoring through public interfaces, except Claude through an API. Otterly says sessions and location can affect answers. Neither a public interface nor an API observation necessarily reproduces a particular buyer’s session.
Keep the prompt wording and observation period fixed for a trial. Record the actual engine configuration and distinguish an unavailable answer from an answer that omits the brand.
Understand what the score counts
Visibility scores from different tools are not directly comparable: their samples and counting rules can differ. Inspect the observations and apply one written rule if you need a shared measure.
Peec AI’s instructions describe visibility as responses containing the brand and share of voice as brand mentions across tracked brands. Ask how aliases and failed runs are handled before reproducing either measure.
Otterly’s metric definitions exclude untriggered AI Overviews from coverage and count repeated brand references once per execution. Otterly’s share of voice uses brand mentions as its denominator. Its buying-likelihood axis derives from average position and is a display proxy, not observed purchase probability.
For an illustrative panel, suppose an AI Overview appears on four of ten attempts and mentions the brand on two. Coverage among triggered answers is 50%; the same mentions represent 20% of all attempts. Keep the trigger status with the report so the denominator remains visible.
A brand mention and a cited page answer different questions. Review the answer and the cited URL before turning either into a recommendation for your team.
Preserve the evidence behind the chart
Test an export before relying on a dashboard for a recurring report. The reporting owner needs to match each answer to its prompt and context.
Peec AI’s export guide lists separate chart CSV exports and a full-project chat CSV; it describes URL-level API reports alongside live Looker reporting. Peec AI’s API help lists access on all agency plans and on Pro, Advanced and Enterprise brand plans, excluding Starter. Older instructions differ, so confirm the endpoints in the order.
Otterly’s export guide lists raw responses in CSV or JSON on all plans and CSV exports for citations and prompts. Otterly lists its Looker Studio connector for Standard, Premium and Enterprise. Otterly’s API guide lists 2,000 monthly external requests for Standard and 5,000 for Premium; requests are separate from monitored prompts.
Open each sample outside the product and match the answer to its prompt and cited URL. A chart export alone may not contain the observations needed to audit the result. Neither export schema has been tested here.
Protect history when the panel changes
A rewritten question starts a different series. Save the old observations and mark the change before reporting a trend.
Peec AI’s prompt guide says archiving stops collection, preserves history and frees prompt allowance. Deleting removes history; changing wording requires an archive and replacement. Peec AI’s customer agreement states a 30-day customer-data export period after termination, followed by deletion subject to its terms.
Otterly’s prompt guidance says monitoring starts when a prompt is added and cannot backfill earlier observations. Changing wording requires deleting and recreating the prompt without transferring history. Export the prior series before making the change.
Otterly’s cancellation guide says paid access lasts through the billing period and tracked engines and historical data are deleted after cancellation. It does not specify an exact deletion or recovery window. Clarify timing and save an independent copy before exit.
Run the same measurement and export worksheet
Use a fixed panel in both products and agree on the decision before reading the scores. This is a procurement exercise, not a benchmark result.
Use the software trial guide to assign an owner and acceptance criteria. The AI visibility buying guide sets out the wider measurement choices.
Common questions
Should I choose Peec AI or Otterly?
Consider Peec AI if its archive workflow and included models fit your panel. Consider Otterly if raw CSV or JSON exports and country-based counting suit your reporting. Price the same coverage first.
How do Peec AI and Otterly count prompts?
Peec AI pricing lists prompt and active-model allowances. Otterly’s prompt guide counts each prompt-country combination against its allowance.
Can I export the answers behind a score?
Peec AI’s export guide lists a full-project chat CSV. Otterly’s export guide lists raw response CSV and JSON on all plans. Test the fields your report needs.
Can I edit a prompt and keep its history?
Peec AI’s prompt guide says to archive the old prompt and create a replacement. Otterly’s guidance says a wording change requires deleting and recreating the prompt without transferring history.
