The short answer

  • LinkedIn’s policy does not permit automation software and describes account restrictions, so the account owner decides first.
  • HeyReach pricing displays Growth at $79 per month per sender and separates client data in workspaces.
  • Expandi pricing displays Business at $99 per month and custom Agency pricing for 10+ seats.
  • Compare the same live change and custom-field handoff before committing.

Start with the platform policy

The account owner should decide whether the policy is acceptable before comparing features. A restriction may affect conversations and work tied to that account.

LinkedIn’s automated activity policy says it does not permit third-party software or extensions that scrape or automate activity on its website. LinkedIn describes account restrictions for automation.

A vendor’s safety marketing does not override that policy. The available sources do not provide a reliable restriction rate for either product.

Document the owner’s decision and the consequences for the outreach process. If the policy rules out automation, choose a process the owner is willing to perform.

Compare the sender commitment

Count senders by client and obtain the actual order. A sender, seat and workspace answer different questions.

HeyReach pricing displays Growth at $79 per month per sender, Agency at $999 and Unlimited at $2,999. Its Unlimited description has a 300-sender fair-use ceiling, and workspaces separate client data.

Expandi lists Business for $99 monthly and offers custom Agency pricing for 10+ seats. Image and GIF personalization and video integration cost extra.

For an agency with separate client teams, count each sender and map the workspace boundary before requesting quotes. Include the required add-ons and the contract period.

Expandi’s annual pricing copy describes both 20% off and two months free. Those descriptions yield different amounts, so use the checkout or a written quote.

Expandi’s pricing FAQ says its seven-day trial renews into the selected billing period unless cancelled. Assign an owner to the cancellation deadline.

Trace a live campaign change

Compare how each product handles people already in progress when the campaign changes. The sender assignment and prior conversation matter to the next action.

HeyReach’s launch guide says the selected list cannot be replaced after launch and describes duplication as the workaround. Its exclusions are workspace-scoped; prior sender conversations count only when registered in Unibox.

HeyReach’s list API guide says adding leads to a list will not start them in a finished campaign or one that has consumed its list. Direct campaign-add endpoints are separate.

For example, replace a client’s intended audience after launch and reconcile the old list with the duplicate. Record who remains in progress and who should enter the new campaign.

For Expandi, request a demonstration of an edit with a representative contact already in progress. The documentation compared here does not settle the live-edit workflow for either product.

Preserve custom fields and history

Test the path out before relying on an imported field. A successful list export does not by itself preserve campaign context.

HeyReach’s leads guide says CSV contains default columns and excludes custom variables. Its API example includes customFields and describes up to 1,000 leads per request; validate the sample host and request shape.

HeyReach’s import guide warns that default variable names take precedence over colliding CSV mappings. API and Clay imports require firstName, lastName and profileUrl; missing fields can fail silently.

HeyReach’s Auto-Tag guide says the latest campaign tag replaces the previous workspace-wide tag. Lead-list CSV includes tag provenance, while campaign CSV includes a tag only if generated there.

Expandi’s placeholder guide describes custom placeholders populated manually or by CSV and a route to clear incorrect imported values. Test the mapping with distinctive values before relying on a bulk handoff.

Expandi’s migration guide describes CSV mapping and rebuilding sequences. Expandi says historical tool analytics do not transfer, while LinkedIn conversations remain on LinkedIn. Preserve contact states separately.

Run the same worksheet on both

Use the same controlled fixture and review LinkedIn’s policy with the account owner before choosing any evaluation activity.

Use the software trial guide to set acceptance criteria and assign an owner for unresolved differences.
