## The short answer

- Tally fits a team that needs a form with conditional logic and a webhook in one organization.
- [Tally pricing](https://tally.so/pricing) includes free forms and submissions, subject to fair usage.
- Tally prohibits sharing a paid subscription with businesses outside the registered organization.
- Plan response archives and integrations separately when transferring a form.

## Match usage to the organization

Start with the organization that owns the form and the volume it expects. Free collection can be useful, but the ownership arrangement matters for paid features.

[Tally pricing](https://tally.so/pricing) includes conditional logic, calculations and webhooks with free forms and submissions, subject to fair usage. Tally Pro adds branding removal, custom domains, collaboration and partial submissions.

Under [Tally’s fair use policy](https://tally.so/help/fair-use-policy), sustained high volume can require a custom plan. Tally also says a paid subscription cannot be shared with businesses outside the registered organization.

For example, an agency may build intake forms for independent clients. Before budgeting for paid features, identify which organization owns each form and price that arrangement rather than assuming one subscription covers every client.

The pricing material does not give a reliable paid cadence in the documentation we read. Request the current terms for the volume and organization structure you expect.

## Test the submission handoff

A form submission is only useful when its destination receives the right data. Test the receiving endpoint under both normal and interrupted delivery.

[Tally’s webhook guide](https://tally.so/help/webhooks) says free webhooks send JSON on submission and require a 2XX response within ten seconds. Tally retries failed requests in stages and offers optional signatures for request verification.

Send a synthetic lead through the form and compare the payload with the destination record. Then delay or fail the endpoint and inspect the retries. Check whether the receiver handles repeated events without creating an unwanted duplicate.

Assign someone to reconcile submissions with the destination and investigate missing events. The [software trial guide](https://quillwell.com/guides/software-trial/) helps teams agree on a common acceptance test.

## Choose what the client needs to see

Separate the response archive from the dashboard a client expects to receive. A chart and an export serve different handoff needs.

[Tally’s Form Insights guide](https://tally.so/help/form-insights) offers free answer charts, while drop-off insight requires Pro. Tally says its Insights dashboard cannot be shared or exported, though raw CSV and submission PDFs are available.

Tally’s free visit history is seven days. For a client reporting workflow, inspect the raw export and agree who will turn it into a report. Test whether the client can use the fields before relying on the archive.

## Move the form and its history

Keep the form separate from its response history and connections when ownership changes. A copied form alone is an incomplete handoff.

[Tally’s collaboration guide](https://tally.so/help/team-collaboration) says accounts belong to one Pro or Business organization. Tally template copies do not move responses, and transferred forms lose integrations.

Export the response history separately and inspect the fields. Reconnect the destination in the client’s organization, then send a synthetic submission through the transferred form. Have the client verify access to the archive and the new destination before retiring the original.

Record who controls the form URL and who will repair a broken connection. Agree on a cutover point so the client knows which form and archive to maintain.

## How to compare the alternatives

Choose a comparison around the workflow you need to own. Fillout may fit a team focused on connected record updates, while Feathery is worth considering for rule-based API actions.

The [Tally alternatives comparison](https://quillwell.com/guides/compare/tally-alternatives/) compares their usage units and handoffs. The [Fillout guide](https://quillwell.com/guides/software/fillout/) goes deeper on its record update workflow, and the [form builder buying guide](https://quillwell.com/guides/form-builder-software/) offers a shared handoff worksheet.

## Common questions

### Are Tally submissions unlimited?

[Tally pricing](https://tally.so/pricing) includes free forms and submissions subject to fair usage. Under [Tally’s fair use policy](https://tally.so/help/fair-use-policy), sustained high volume can require a custom plan.

### Can an agency share Tally Pro with clients?

[Tally’s fair use policy](https://tally.so/help/fair-use-policy) says paid subscriptions cannot be shared with businesses outside the registered organization. Price the actual client ownership arrangement.

### Do Tally webhooks retry failed requests?

[Tally’s webhook guide](https://tally.so/help/webhooks) describes staged retries for failed requests and optional signatures. Test how your receiving endpoint handles both.

### Does a Tally template copy include responses?

[Tally’s collaboration guide](https://tally.so/help/team-collaboration) says template copies do not move responses. Transferred forms lose integrations, so reconnect the destination.

### Which form builder should I choose?

Consider Tally for free webhooks within one organization. Fillout may fit connected record updates; Feathery may fit rule-based API actions. Test the intended handoff.
