## The short answer

- Frase is worth considering when its seat and site allowances fit the team and CMS publishing matters.
- [Frase Starter](https://www.frase.io/pricing) lists $49 month-to-month for one seat and one site.
- A Webflow connection needs field mapping and a public URL template for performance tracking.
- Consider Clearscope for unlimited users or Surfer for its documented WordPress route.

## Price the work your team does

Match the plan to the people who need access and the sites they serve. A low entry price matters less if the allowance cannot cover your publishing calendar.

[Frase Starter](https://www.frase.io/pricing) lists $49 month-to-month or $39 monthly equivalent billed yearly. It includes one seat and one site, ten articles and 50 audit pages monthly.

Frase Professional lists $129 month-to-month for three seats and five sites; extra seats are $29 monthly. For a five-person team serving five sites, use the Professional allowance and extra-seat rate when requesting a quote.

Record the articles and audit pages your team expects in a busy month. Include reviewers who need access, then compare the applicable allowances with the work you expect.

[Frase terms](https://www.frase.io/company/terms) distinguish monthly payment from the subscription term. The default term is a year or the order-form term, with 30-day nonrenewal notice. Read your order before treating monthly payment as a monthly commitment.

## Control the publishing handoff

Choose who approves the final page before connecting the CMS. A publishing connection moves work closer to the live site, so the editor needs a clear approval point.

[Frase pricing](https://www.frase.io/pricing) lists publishing to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity and Wix on Starter. Autonomous publication is enabled only when permitted. Decide who can grant that permission and who reviews the destination.

[Frase’s Webflow guide](https://docs.frase.io/integrations/cms-publishing/webflow) requires an existing CMS collection and an API token with CMS/Sites read-write permissions. Map the fields your page needs before using the connection.

Without a public URL template, Frase can publish but cannot track performance, apply Content Guard or republish updates. Test the template with a controlled page and inspect the destination after publishing.

Try an existing-page update separately from a new draft. Record the page status and the steps needed to reverse an unwanted change. A successful transfer of a title alone does not show that every required field arrived correctly.

## Keep editorial judgment visible

Treat the content score as an input to review. Your editor still owns factual accuracy and the decision to publish.

Give the writer a factual brief and the sources needed to support it. Have a reviewer assess whether the finished draft answers the intended reader before considering the score.

Use the same brief across candidates and record editing time and corrections. The result helps you compare the work remaining after a draft arrives, rather than assuming a score predicts a ranking.

## Prepare an archive before moving

Keep usable copies of your work before changing a legacy account. The old subscription price alone does not describe what the new allowance will cover.

[Frase’s legacy migration guide](https://docs.frase.io/legacy-migration-guide) says eligible base subscription prices can carry over, while credit reset timing and governance can change. Frase also describes rebuilding folders and integrations.

Frase’s FAQ says archived documents migrate, while its preparation guidance says only live documents migrate. Export backups and resolve that conflict before switching.

Compare a representative document in the destination with the original, including its body and formatting. List the integrations and folder permissions that need rebuilding, then assign an owner to each.

## How to compare the alternatives

Consider Clearscope if unlimited users are central to the handoff. [Clearscope pricing](https://www.clearscope.io/pricing) lists unlimited users and projects on every plan, while its work allowances still need to fit your calendar.

Consider Surfer if its WordPress route fits your review process. [Surfer’s WordPress guide](https://docs.surferseo.com/en/articles/9071075-how-to-export-content-between-surfer-and-wordpress) says new exports create drafts, but updates to published posts become visible immediately. Use a safe fixture to test that distinction.

The [Surfer alternatives comparison](https://quillwell.com/guides/compare/surfer-alternatives/) examines the choices for an existing Surfer buyer. The [content optimization buying guide](https://quillwell.com/guides/content-optimization-software/) provides a shared handoff trial and cost worksheet.

## Common questions

### Who should consider Frase?

If its seat and site limits fit your team and CMS publishing matters, consider Frase and test the handoff.

### Does Frase support Webflow publishing?

[Frase’s Webflow guide](https://docs.frase.io/integrations/cms-publishing/webflow) requires an existing collection and a token with CMS/Sites read-write permissions.

### Does monthly payment guarantee a monthly term?

[Frase terms](https://www.frase.io/company/terms) describe a default year or order-form term separately from monthly payment. Read your order.

### Do archived documents migrate from legacy Frase?

[Frase’s migration guidance](https://docs.frase.io/legacy-migration-guide) conflicts on archived documents. Export backups and resolve their treatment before moving.
