## The short answer

- [LinkedIn’s policy](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1340567/automated-activity-on-linkedin?lang=en) prohibits automation software and describes account restrictions; the account owner decides first.
- [Expandi pricing](https://expandi.io/pricing/) displays Business at $99 per month and custom Agency pricing for 10+ seats.
- Expandi supports custom placeholders populated manually or by CSV; preserve campaign history separately when migrating.
- Consider HeyReach if separate client workspaces and per-sender Growth pricing fit your team.

## Start with LinkedIn’s policy

The account owner should decide whether the platform policy is acceptable before choosing a campaign tool. A restriction can affect conversations and work tied to the account.

[LinkedIn’s automated activity policy](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1340567/automated-activity-on-linkedin?lang=en) says it does not permit third-party software or extensions that scrape or automate activity on its website. LinkedIn describes account restrictions for automation.

A vendor’s precautions do not change that policy, and the policy does not give a restriction probability for a particular account. Record the owner’s decision and the work that depends on the account.

If the policy rules out automation, plan an outreach process the owner is willing to perform. A paid LinkedIn account should not be treated as permission for prohibited automation.

## Price the actual commitment

Count the seats your team needs and include the features you intend to use in the quote. The advertised monthly figure is only part of the purchase decision.

[Expandi pricing](https://expandi.io/pricing/) lists Business at $99 monthly and custom Agency pricing for 10+ seats. Expandi charges extra for image and GIF personalization and video integration.

Expandi’s annual copy describes both 20% off and two months free. Those descriptions produce different amounts, so use the checkout amount or a written quote for the chosen billing period.

Expandi’s pricing FAQ says its seven-day trial renews into the selected billing period unless cancelled. Assign someone to the cancellation deadline before starting the trial.

For an agency evaluating a larger team, list the intended seats and paid personalization features before requesting the Agency quote. Keep the quoted billing period with the trial decision so the team can compare the full commitment.

## Map custom fields before importing

Choose the values each message needs and keep the original mapping with the source file. A recognizable test value makes it easier to spot a field mapped to the wrong person.

[Expandi’s placeholder guide](https://help.expandi.io/en/articles/5405771-create-edit-placeholders) describes custom placeholders created in My Network and populated manually or by CSV. Expandi also describes clearing imported placeholders so a corrected import can replace incorrect data.

For example, put a distinctive value in a sample contact’s custom field and trace it through the intended mapping. Inspect the contact before relying on the same mapping for a larger list.

The placeholder workflow helps correct imported values, but it does not show that another product’s custom fields transfer automatically. Save the original file and field definitions before changing tools.

## Plan the campaign handoff

Treat migration as a transfer of contact context as well as a list import. Someone needs to know what each person has already received before a rebuilt sequence starts.

[Expandi’s migration guide](https://expandi.io/blog/switch-to-expandi-migration-guide/) describes CSV mapping and rebuilding sequences. Expandi says historical tool analytics do not transfer, while LinkedIn conversations remain on LinkedIn.

Keep campaign contact states and reporting samples as an archive before closing the old account. Match each contact to its next intended action and assign an owner to resolve uncertain records.

A live edit deserves its own demonstration. Ask Expandi to show what happens to a representative contact already in progress and to the sender assignment when a sequence changes.

## How to compare the alternatives

Consider HeyReach if separate client workspaces and a per-sender Growth price fit your operating model. [HeyReach pricing](https://www.heyreach.io/pricing) describes workspaces that separate client data and displays Growth at $79 per month per sender.

HeyReach may also fit a team willing to investigate an API route for preserving custom fields. [HeyReach’s leads guide](https://help.heyreach.io/en/articles/10475396-leads-screen-overview) says CSV exports exclude custom variables, while its [API example](https://docs.heyreach.io/hey-reach-api/lists/get-leads-from-list) includes customFields.

Use the [HeyReach vs Expandi comparison](https://quillwell.com/guides/compare/heyreach-vs-expandi/) to compare the same campaign handoff. The [LinkedIn automation buying guide](https://quillwell.com/guides/linkedin-automation-software/) helps the account owner weigh policy before a trial.

## Common questions

### Does LinkedIn permit Expandi automation?

[LinkedIn’s policy](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1340567/automated-activity-on-linkedin?lang=en) does not permit automation software and describes account restrictions, so the account owner decides first.

[Expandi’s pricing FAQ](https://expandi.io/pricing/) says the seven-day trial renews into the selected billing period unless cancelled.

### Can Expandi import historical campaign analytics?

[Expandi’s migration guide](https://expandi.io/blog/switch-to-expandi-migration-guide/) says historical tool analytics do not transfer. Preserve contact states and reporting separately.

### Is Expandi the best choice for an agency?

Consider Expandi if its custom Agency quote and placeholder workflow fit your team. Consider HeyReach if separate client workspaces and per-sender Growth pricing fit better.
