## The short answer

- Consider FirstPromoter if its historical Stripe import and documented payout workflow suit your program.
- Consider Tolt if approval settings for individual flows matter to your partner operations.
- Stay with Rewardful if its entry allowance and manual attribution process fit your workload.
- Before switching, reconcile commissions already paid against any imported sales.

## FirstPromoter

Consider FirstPromoter when you need a documented route for importing a customer’s historical Stripe sales. Review the resulting balances before enabling payments.

[FirstPromoter Starter](https://firstpromoter.com/pricing) costs $49 monthly or $490 annually, with up to $5,000 monthly affiliate revenue and 1,000 affiliates. FirstPromoter lists Stripe and Paddle among its billing providers.

[FirstPromoter’s referral import guide](https://help.firstpromoter.com/en/articles/8970451-how-to-manually-create-referrals-in-firstpromoter) says importing Stripe events after creating a referral brings in past customer sales and generates corresponding commissions. The referral UID must be the Stripe customer ID. For a previously paid sale, compare the new entry with the old ledger to avoid treating it as unpaid.

[FirstPromoter managed payouts](https://help.firstpromoter.com/en/articles/9998853-how-managed-auto-payouts-work) require Enterprise 2 or above, SaaS status, US registration and US-bank invoicing and payment, subject to review and excluded-business rules. The Wise suggestion for customers without a US bank account does not show non-US businesses qualify.

FirstPromoter says setup replaces promoters’ configured payout methods with Dots and requires the partner agreement. Transfers can take seven to ten days after invoice payment is received, with partner withdrawal fees. The [FirstPromoter guide](https://quillwell.com/guides/software/firstpromoter/) covers its pricing and migration controls.

## Tolt

Consider Tolt when partner groups need different approval rules and your team can implement its billing connection. Price the actual plan for your workload.

[Tolt’s approval settings](https://help.tolt.com/en/articles/9965701-approve-commissions-automatically-or-manually) allow immediate, delayed or manual approval per flow. Changes govern new commissions, while existing statuses remain unchanged. Review the applicable flows for each partner group.

[Tolt payout terms](https://help.tolt.com/en/articles/9921217-set-your-payout-term) create payouts 15, 30 or 60 days after the commission month ends under NET-15, NET-30 or NET-60. None requires manual generation. Approval, payout creation and receipt remain separate events.

[Tolt’s Paddle Billing setup](https://help.tolt.com/en/articles/8455444-set-up-paddle-billing-with-tolt) uses a server-side API key and site script, a referral ID in checkout customData, and a webhook secret. Tolt says commission calculation can exclude Paddle fees or taxes. Trace a test referral through the billing version you use.

## When to stay with Rewardful

Stay when Rewardful’s allowance and manual correction workflow cover your program at an acceptable payout cost. Test the cases your partners actually experience before making a move.

[Rewardful Starter](https://www.rewardful.com/pricing) costs $49 monthly or $490 annually and permits $7,500 monthly affiliate-attributed revenue. Rewardful lists unlimited affiliates and a zero percent fee on affiliate-attributed revenue across plans.

[Rewardful Managed Payouts](https://help.rewardful.com/en/articles/11930611-what-is-managed-payouts) charges a 3% processing fee per payout, and partner withdrawal fees may also apply. The zero percent fee concerns attributed revenue; the processing fee applies to payouts. Rewardful requires an ACH-capable funding method and manual invoice payment, and directs customers to support for access.

[Rewardful’s manual attribution guide](https://help.rewardful.com/en/articles/2248017-how-to-manually-attribute-a-referred-customer-to-an-affiliate) gives a mobile-click and laptop-signup example requiring manual attribution. After association, future invoices generate commissions; selected past invoices can also generate them manually. Reconcile past payments before selecting invoices.

Rewardful uses a partner link token in customer metadata for a read-write Stripe connection; a read-only connection requires a generated referral ID. Keep the connection mode and identifiers in the handoff notes.
